People

My intention for this space is to present some of the people whom I have known and loved as well as those whom I have lost over these many years. Now, in my seventy-fourth year many of these faces are frozen and lost in time. I did not know how to keep them. I did not know how important they were, not then when I had them, only now after so many have slipped through my fingers. They have traveled into their own futures and I into mine without a look back. I simply let them go. I have made photographs. In the 60's and 70's, we had no concept of loosing one another. We would always be connected to one another in the family further.  This gallery is for all of you, my dear ones.  I will always love you.

Note:  Notice the two photos of the guy in the big hat.  NOte the expression shift inhis face from engaging the guy (me) who he has known for 30+ years to a guy with a camera focusing on his very own face.  We were neighbors in Berkeley and use to hang out on varous corners, making music, drinking and smoking in Berkeley which is mostly sunnny, and warm with a fresh, gentle breeze flowing from the Bay and Pacific Ocean. The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island clearly visabe. near the hoixon line.

I was doing the same stuff that I was doing when he last saw me...making photogrpahs of everything and every body,

The point of this rant?  To learn how to work portraits, practice with friends and relatives.  Anticipate a look on that face and be ready.. Keep a mild conversatioon going..
